Nicole Richie Sets Yet Another Trend - But What Is It?

Style News Now

01/18/2013 at 06:30 PM ET

Trend ReportJason Merritt/Getty; Sara De Boer/Startracks; Steve Granitz/WireImage

Three shows down, and a lot more to go! So far, we’ve spotted tons of great trends at the Golden Globe Awards, Critics’ Choice Awards and People’s Choice Awards, however, three have totally stood out to us — two because they’re so rampant, and one because it’s so unusual. Let’s break it down:

Up: 50 shades of blue. From powder to navy, the red carpet has been a sea of oceanic shades so far. On the lighter end of the color spectrum recently were Nicole Richie in a periwinkle Naeem Khan gown, Jessica Chastain in a seafoam Calvin Klein Collection number and Lucy Liu in a sky-blue floral-print creation. Ladies like Amanda Seyfried, Emmy Rossum and Amy Adams, however, slipped into deep, midnight hues. Who’s got dibs on baby and royal blue? We think we’ll find out soon.

Down: Red lips. Surprisingly, Julianna Margulies was one of the few stars sporting a classic cherry pout on the red carpet this week — most celebs went for nudes, pinks and dark, vampy shades. Expect to see more bold beauty choices — like Jessica Alba’s juicy citrus lip, Kaley Cuoco’s plum pout and Julianne Moore’s funky fuchsia smile — throughout the rest of awards season.

Up: Thigh-high slits. Sorry, Angelina: Eva Longoria and other daring stars are stealing your right leg’s thunder. Though Longoria earned the title of “Most Gam-Baring Gown” the night of the Globes, she saw some stiff competition from Lea Michele, Miranda Kerr, Halle Berry, Katharine McPhee and Claire Danes — all of whom showed off their never-ending stems in super-sexy designs. Can the hemlines possibly get higher for next week’s Screen Actors Guild Awards? They just might!

Simon Cowell Signs The X Factor's Fifth Harmony

People Exclusive

Fifth Harmony and One Direction have a lot in common.

Both groups auditioned as five individuals before being put together by The X Factor mentors. Both groups went on to place third on their seasons. And, now, both groups have been signed by their X Factor mentor Simon Cowell.

"I knew from the girls' first performance at the judges' homes that we'd done the right thing," Cowell, in an exclusive statement, tells PEOPLE of Fifth Harmony. "The chemistry between the girls both on stage and off is fantastic, and they are incredibly talented."

Fifth Harmony's Ally Brooke, 19, Camila Cabello, 15, Normani Hamilton, 16, Dinah Jane Hansen, 15, and Lauren Jauregui, 16, developed a loyal fan base of "Harmonizers" during the Fox reality show's second season and have now signed a recording deal with Cowell's Syco Music and fellow X Factor mentor L.A. Reid's Epic Records.

"The fact that we're being given the opportunity to make music that we want feels like a dream we never want to wake up from. I literally have to pinch myself," says Cabello, who is known to fans for her signature hair bows.

The group's debut album will be executive produced by Julian Bunetta (whose credits include One Direction, Boys II Men and Leona Lewis), but the girls seem most excited to be reunited with each other in the recording studio after being apart for the holidays.

"I am going to have a blast working with my girls," Brooke says. "I promise we are going to bring it."

One of Fifth Harmony's most memorable performances was a cover of Ellie Goulding's "Anything Can Happen" – and how true that is, given what has taken place for a group of girls who, less than a year ago, were total strangers.

American Idol Judges Predict a Girl Will Win This Season

Fans, keep your eyes on the ladies during the new season of American idol. That's the advice from several of the show's judges, who think a woman will win the singing competition this year.

"Girls, do not disappoint the Dawg. I think it's the girls' year," Randy Jackson tells PEOPLE of the new crop of contestants on the reality show, which premieres Wednesday (8 p.m. ET) on Fox.

"There are some talented boys, but I must say, I think the girls could really win one," he adds. "We haven't had a girl winner in so long."

Of course, some of the female Idol winners went on to have some of the most successful careers, including country superstar Carrie Underwood and the first-ever Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson.

New judge Nicki Minaj agrees that the women contestants really bring their A-game to the show. "The girls are exceptional. I mean, a girl will definitely win this year, I think," she says.

Minaj finds the ladies are "more seasoned, more poised, more professional" – and some of them combine that maturity with a great voice.

According to Keith Urban, the level of talent was so high overall this season that the judges struggled to figure out who should be cut.

"All four of us had the conversation, 'What are we looking for?' " he said. "Because we can't send two million people to Hollywood."

Elizabeth Banks: Why I'm Really a Mom Now

Elizabeth Banks Really a Mom Now
Michael Simon/Startraks

Elizabeth Banks has hit official mom status.

Since welcoming her second son Magnus Mitchell in November, the actress — also mom to son Felix — admits she’s feeling the full effects of motherhood.

“Two is very different from one. When you have one kid, you feel like you can jet set around and you can throw him on the hip and you get your life done,” Banks told PEOPLE at the launch of babyGap’s Peter Rabbit collection at Gap at The Grove in L.A. Saturday.

“You don’t realize how easy one is until you have two. Now I’m really a mom. Oh, I am a mom now! This is for serious — I am responsible for two people now.”

The reality of her new family of four finally hit home when Banks and her husband Max Handelman decided to celebrate the holidays with their sons — sans hired help.

“[We] had no help, no nannies, no babysitters. It was crazy. You forget how difficult it is to wake up in the middle of the night, how exhausting it is,” she admits, adding being a hands-on mom took on a whole new meaning. “I lost all my nails. I did dishes and cleaned bottles for 10 days so I lost all those nails!”

Fortunately, making life easier has been Felix’s smooth transition into his role as the “sweetest” big brother. “He loves to say how cute Magnus is and he loves to give him kisses and he’s very gentle,” Banks, 38, shares.

“He loves to bring him gifts — sometimes that means shoes that are thrown in the bassinet, but that’s okay.”

The 22-month-old’s tough love tactics may be seemingly sweet now, but Banks isn’t holding out hope the brotherly bond will last long.

“I would say [Felix] is mostly unaware of what’s going on because Magnus doesn’t touch his stuff,” she explains. “I’ve heard that around 10 months — when baby can actually influence the realm of Felix — that Felix will not be happy. We’ll see how that goes.”

One thing that’s for sure? Banks and Handelman hit a home run when playing the name game. “Felix means happy in Latin and he is very happy go lucky,” the proud mom says.

“Magnus is definitely more serious. He’s going to be the deep thinker of the family for sure.”

Robin Roberts: 'I'm Coming Home'

01/14/2013 at 09:25 AM EST

She's healthy and coming back to television soon!

"It's a matter of weeks, not months," Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts, speaking from her apartment, told viewers live on Monday's show. "I'm coming home."

Looking healthy and resplendent in purple, an emotional Roberts, 52, said she would be coming to work next week for what she described as a "dry run" – taking measure of where she goes on set, her stress level in the studio and her skin's reaction to the lights, all in preparation for a full return to the air.

"My last bone marrow aspiration showed no abnormalities – praise God," Roberts said to the delight of her GMA colleagues. "What all this means is, doctors were waiting for this information so that I can began the process of returning to the anchor chair."

She won't be hosting the program again immediately, but she is working up to that moment when she will – likely some time in February.

"I haven't been live on television since August," Roberts said. "My heart is beating so fast right now, but it means that I am alive. I am so grateful to be as inspired as I am. I can't wait 'til I get back."

Roberts's visit to the show came amid much excited speculation from fans that her permanent return was imminent. She underwent a bone marrow transplant on Sept. 20 after being diagnosed with a rare blood disorder, myelodysplastic syndrome. She has recently been recovering at home.

The anchor was fortunate that her sister, Sally-Ann Roberts, was not only willing to be her donor but was a perfect match. "I'm so happy. I'm so grateful," said Robin, who also demonstrated Monday that she hasn't lost her sense of humor.

Sporting her shorn look, Roberts noted that when she does her trial run next week, she'll be doing "hair and makeup." Pause. "Well, makeup," she said good-naturedly. "We'll talk about the hair later."

What's the Big Trend We Expect to See on the Red Carpet Tonight?

Style News Now

01/12/2013 at 09:00 AM ET

Jennifer AnistonJason Merritt/Getty; AP (2)

This week’s People’s Choice Awards and Critics’ Choice Awards offered stars lots of choices (ha!) in the fashion department — chances to experiment with prints, designers, trends and more. Overall, we liked what we saw … and think we’ll be seeing lots more of two specific trends as red carpet season rolls on. Let’s get to the lowdown:

Up: Eye-catching embellished necklines. We’re not talking Jessica McClintock prom-style here, thankfully, but several stars — including Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt and Naomi Watts — showed up to this week’s awards shows in otherwise classic gowns that boasted beautiful, sparkly beading up top. And since red carpets always seem to attract major bling, we expect to see more gowns of this style in the high-fashion weeks ahead.

Up: Pretty spring-like florals. Elle Fanning, Marion Cotillard, Chloë Moretz and Katy Perry all had us feeling rosy thanks to their patterned dresses, which offered varying degrees (and varieties!) of blooms. Since such prints were big on the spring 2013 runways, and those fashion shows are what many stylists are pulling from for A-list clients in the coming weeks, we know we’ll be seeing all sorts of blossoms soon.

Down: Slashes as the new cutouts. We know cutouts are here to stay, at least for a little while, but Blunt’s take on the trend isn’t typical. They need to be big, like Jennifer Lawrence’s, Emma Watson’s or Gwyneth Paltrow’s — otherwise, you might just look like you popped a seam.

For more on up-and-coming trends, check out our thoughts on red accessories, sexy minis and side-swept hair.

What's on the minds of PEOPLE readers this week? We love receiving your feedback, and as always, you weighed in with plenty of reaction!

From Marie Osmond's happy news to pregnant Kim Kardashian's real estate moves to Taylor Swift's love life, check out the stories with the top reactions on the site this week, and keep clicking on the emoticons at the bottom of every story to tell us what you think!

LOLAs she sings about her love life and its mishaps, readers laughed out loud at yet another public break-up for Swift, 23 – this time with One Direction's Harry Styles, 18. The high-profile couple, who connected in November and then were seen cuddling and kissing from New York to the Caribbean to the ski slopes, reportedly called it quits after a Virgin Island trip went sour.

WowBut it wasn't all LOLs for Swift this week. Emerging from her break-up with Styles, she made a bold statement on the People's Choice Awards red carpet. Decked out in a white Ralph Lauren Collection gown, with a plunging bodice, smoky eyes and sensual Christian Louboutin heels, Swift turned heads and signaled that she was not a victim of heartbreak.

LoveFor Marie Osmond, Christmas Day brought a huge present brimming with love. Her daughter Rachael, 23, a costume designer, married fashion designer Gabriel Krueger, 22, in a cabin in Park City, Utah, prompting a joyous Osmond to tell PEOPLE that she'd "never seen Rachael look happier." Readers shared in this Osmond story of love and family.

AngryIf reader's weren't shocked enough by their surprise baby news, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West continued to draw their ire with news that they purchased an extravagant $11 million Bel Air, Calif., mansion. As Kardashian, 32, negotiates her drawn-out divorce from basketball star Kris Humphries, 27, she and West, 35, continue to globe-trot along as they prepare to play house in a 9,000-square-foot Italian-style villa that a source says offers them privacy.

SadThe international fashion world was rocked and readers were saddened by news last week that Vittorio Missoni, 58, the commercial and marketing director of the Missoni fashion house, went missing while on holiday in Venezuela. As the search continues for Missoni's missing twin-engine plane, which went off radar and never arrived at its destination, his family said they remained hopeful that somehow, he and his wife and another couple they were vacationing with, would be found alive.

Check back next week for another must-read roundup, and see what readers are reacting to every day here.

Survivor: Caramoan - Fans vs. Favorites: See Who's Back

01/11/2013 at 09:00 AM EST

From left: Phillip Sheppard, Malcolm Freberg and Brandon Hantz

CBS/Landov (3)

The 26th season of Survivor will be the ultimate "Redemption Island" for ten returning contestants who will face off against ten newcomers on Survivor: Caramoan – Fans vs. Favorites.

A few of the returning contestants caught up with PEOPLE just before starting their "adventure of a lifetime" ... once again.

Malcolm Freberg, the Frequent Flyer
Less than three weeks after returning from filming Survivor: Philippines, Freberg was headed back out to the wilderness for a second shot at the $1 million dollar prize.

"My mental strategy has been to just not unwind," Freberg told PEOPLE during his short time in the U.S. between seasons. "I'm at the grocery store and someone will ask me a simple question and I'm thinking, 'What does he mean by that?' You don't trust anyone."

Freberg, 25, was a force in challenges and a charismatic player on Philippines, where he placed fourth. But in the Caramoan Islands, he will face off against returning players and fans who will not have had the opportunity to watch his season.

"I'm like the new kid on the block. I'm a wildcard and there is a stigma attached to being the guy that nobody knows anything about," said Freberg, who ate a large amount of sweets and drank plenty of beer while home in hopes of re-gaining the weight he lost while in the Philippines.

Brandon Hantz, the Repentant Liar
While his super-villain uncle Russell Hantz will not be back to play Survivor for a fourth time, Brandon returns to the game with a new mentality after cracking under the pressures of trying to reconcile his faith with strategy on Survivor: South Pacific.

"I was an emotional wreck when I played [the first time]," said Brandon, who placed sixth in 2011. "But now I've done it one time already, which created callouses as far as emotions are concerned. [Before] I didn't know that I didn't have to live a life like a monk. Now I know this game is not going to change my relationship with God."

Brandon, 21, will be reunited with his South Pacific castmates Dawn Meehan and John Cochran, but he does not expect previous relationships to cloud his judgment.

"It's pretty cool to have friends in the cast but to an extent, that goes out the window for me," he said. "Hopefully not for them, though. Hopefully they keep [their friendship with me] intact."

Phillip Sheppard, The Rogue "Agent"
As a contestant on Survivor: Redemption Island, Sheppard became notorious for wearing a feather in his headband, his pink underwear and his abrasive antics that left his tribemates uncomfortable – but the so-called "former federal agent" would not have his competitors see it any other way.

"I will give them a little sample of the Phillip they saw play [on Redemption Island] to make them feel like they can control me," said Sheppard, who made it to the finals alongside Redemption Island winner Rob Mariano in 2011. "But I will be in control. I will win this season."

Sheppard, 54, will be joined by his former Redemption Island tribemates Andrea Boehlke and Francesca Hogi, the only returning player to have been eliminated at the first tribal council.

"It would be funny if Francesca and I could come together and make everybody believe she hates me and I hate her and we ran the season," Sheppard said of possibly teaming up with his former tribemate, whose name he was never able to pronounce correctly. "I don't think it will happen but that would be fun."

Also joining the tribe of Favorites will be Gabon's Corrine Kaplan and Nicaragua's Brenda Lowe, who could team up and convince the final returning player, Micronesia's Erik Reichenbach, to give up his immunity necklace for a second time.

Survivor: Caramoan premieres Feb. 13 on CBS.

It's a Girl for Lily Allen

Celebrity Baby Blog

Lily Allen Welcomes Daughter Marnie Rose
PA Photos/Landov

Cue the lullabies: Lily Allen is a mom — again!

The “Smile” singer and her husband Sam Cooper welcomed her second daughter — and the baby girl shares her special day with rock legends Elvis and David Bowie. Marnie Rose arrived on Tuesday, Jan. 8, according to reports.

The couple — who wed in Gloucestershire, England in June 2011 — are already parents to 13-month-old daughter Ethel Mary.

Her rep declined to confirm the pregnancy in July, but after stepping out several times with a burgeoning belly, no official confirmation was needed when 27-year-old Allen appeared radiant on the red carpet during the British Fashion Awards in November.

On New Year’s Eve, Allen was anxious the tot would emerge soon, Tweeting she was “only planning on spending a few days of [2013] pregnant. Unlike the last 3 years.” And she said she had been sampling curries to try to force labor.

A rep for the singer (who goes by her married name Cooper) didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment or statement, but Allen appeared to acknowledge the news Thursday when she thanked fans, writing, “Quite overwhelmed by all the well wishing going on. THANKYOU everybody x x x”

One of those came from actor friend Charlie Condou, who Tweeted he had a “little cry” when Lily “told me Marnie Rose was born” on his birthday.

Taylor Swift Steps Out in Los Angeles Post-Split

01/09/2013 at 09:45 AM EST

She's marching on!

Following the end of a whirlwind romance with One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles that took her from New York City to northern England, the ski slopes of Utah and the British Virgin Isles, Taylor Swift stepped out alone in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The Grammy-winning singer, 23 – who just split with Styles, 18, and left the Caribbean solo – was photographed outside a friend's home in the Brentwood area of L.A.

The couple first showed off their affection during taping of The X Factor in November and even shared a kiss at midnight on New Year's Eve.

Despite appearances, a Swift source told PEOPLE of the romance, "No one is taking it seriously."

Maybe that's why she's still smiling.

Miranda Lambert Is 'Protective' Over Time With Husband Blake Shelton

01/08/2013 at 09:45 AM EST

Despite countless awards, hit records and a doting husband, Miranda Lambert isn't always so confident.

"I"m insecure about tons of things!" she says in Redbook's February issue – available on newsstands Tuesday.

"I cry onstage once a week, singing 'The House That Built Me,' and I always tell the crowd, 'Don't tell anyone I was cryin'!' Or 'Over You,' when Blake [Shelton] and I had all that loss in our lives. It was really hard to get up there after we had been to three funerals," the singer says of the Country Music Award-winning song she co-wrote with husband Shelton.

Although their high-profile careers sometimes keep Lambert, 29, and Shelton, 36, apart, the singer says the distance makes her heart grow fonder.

"This time I hadn't seen him in 11 days," she recalls. "He was just so happy when I got here it was like [making an angels-singing voice] 'Ahh, you're here.' When I go to the The Voice set and everyone says, 'Blake's been talking about you so much,' it just makes me feel special."

But when they are together, Lambert says she's "protective" over their private time together.

"He's the sweetest guy. Like, he will talk to anyone, sign anything, take a picture with everyone. And if I don't stop it at some point, it ruins our whole night," she says. "I have to be the bad guy. The people are like 'Oh, God, don't mess with her ...' "

Downton Abbey: 5 Best Moments from Season 3 Premiere

TV News

01/07/2013 at 09:35 AM EST

Dame Maggie Smith and Shirley Maclaine on the set of Downton Abbey

Nick Briggs

Downton Abbey is back!

Sunday's two-hour premiere was full of developments – upstairs, downstairs and outside of the Crawleys' sprawling country home. As Mary and her fiancé Matthew prepare for their wedding, Lord Crawley gets word that his wife Cora's fortune has disappeared thanks to a bad investment in a Canadian railroad company. At the same time, Matthew has learned that he may become the heir to his late fiancée's father's inheritance. And so just when the problem of finding a practical heir to Downton is resolved, the future of the estate is once again in question. Anna is as loyal a wife as ever, working to free Bates from spending life in prison; Lady Edith continues to pursue the much older Lord Anthony; and housekeeper Mrs. Hughes may have cancer!

But that's just the tip of the iceberg that sank the Titanic. Here are the best moments from the season 3 premiere:

1. You May Kiss the Bride: After Matthew tells Mary he could never in good conscience keep Lavinia's father's fortune, she reveals her own father's financial troubles, hoping that he'll change his mind to save Downton. But he does not back down, and, after accusing him of not caring, she runs away in tears – the night before their wedding. Later, Matthew goes to her bedroom to smooth things over. Because it's bad luck to see the bride before the wedding, they talk with a door between them and then share a kiss with their eyes closed. But Mary peeks – will it bring bad luck? Well, her horse-drawn carriage did make it to the chapel and the pair returned safely from their honeymoon in the south of France.

2. Branson, You're Welcome: An expectant Lady Sybil returns from Dublin with her husband Thomas Branson, Lord Crawley's former chauffeur. And he doesn't receive a warm welcome. That he doesn't have proper dinner attire and speaks his mind about Irish politics at the meal table does not help his cause. But when uppity guest Larry Grey (a former suitor of Sybil's) drugs Branson's drink, making him appear drunk at dinner, two men come to his rescue: Lord Anthony accuses Grey, and Matthew – very democratically – declares he wants Branson to be his best man at the wedding.

3. Dowager's Secret: Though she says of her unsavory son-in-law, "I shall make sure he behaves normally because I shall hold his hand on the radiator until he does," the Dowager Countess reveals at dinner that she was the one who paid for Branson's passage from Dublin to Downton because she wanted Sybil and her husband to be present for the wedding. It's a sign that Downton's most traditional resident is coming around to the idea that her granddaughter has found love with a former servant.

4. Martha Saves the Day: The much-anticipated arrival of Lady Mary's mother, Martha Levinson, from New York was all Downton Abbey fans could have hoped for. Whether spewing progressive American superiority or going head-to-head with Lady Violet, Martha ignited Downton. But it was her quick thinking when the stove went out before a dinner party that was her best moment. Instead of sending Downton Village's most distinguished guests home without dinner, she suggested an indoor picnic, inviting everyone to eat what they want, where they want. Then she sang a tune! Her song: "Let Me Call You Sweetheart."

5. Thomas vs. O'Brien: They shared cigarettes and schemed together to bring down Bates in the past, but in season 3 Downton's most mischievous couple, valet Thomas Barrow and lady's maid Sarah O'Brien, are at odds since the arrival of a new footman, O'Brien's nephew Alfred. After Thomas embarrassed Alfred by wrongly advising him on how to clean Matthew's dinner jacket, and thereby burning it, O'Brien returned the favor by hiding Lord Crawley's shirts, forcing the most distinguished man in the county to dress in black tie rather than white, which according to Martha, made him suitable for a nothing more than a barbecue.

It's official – Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy's marriage is over.

Having announced a separation over the holidays, the reality star began the divorce process by filing earlier this week in New York, TMZ reports.

"It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating," Frankel, 42, had said in a statement Dec. 23. "This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family."

The split comes after months of rumors that the pair – who married in 2010 and are parents to daughter Bryn, 2½ – were on the rocks.

"Bethenny is devastated," a friend tells PEOPLE.

Kelly Clarkson: 'I've Never Been Truly Loved' Until Now

01/04/2013 at 09:45 AM EST

As she prepares to walk down the aisle, Kelly Clarkson has no doubts about her groom-to-be, Nashville-based talent manager Brandon Blackstock.

"Brandon's totally the one," Clarkson, 30, tells Cosmopolitan for its February issue. "I've never been so happy."

After dating for a year, Blackstock, whose father Narvel Blackstock is Clarkson's manager (and Reba McEntire's husband), popped the question in December on what she called the "happiest night of my life."

But romance was a long time coming for the pair.

"We've known each other for years, but we didn't start talking until the Super Bowl last February," Clarkson says in the issue, which hits newsstands Tuesday.

Though she's thrilled to be engaged, Clarkson wasn't sure when they first went out together. "This is the funniest/worst thing ever: One of my superhero idols is Whitney Houston, and the day she died was our first date," she says. "I was like 'This is a bad omen.' "

That turned out not to be true, but it seems that one thing is: love is worth waiting for: "Six years I was single before this," Clarkson says. "I've never been truly loved like I am right now."

Fourth Child on the Way for Amar'e Stoudemire

Fourth Child on the Way for Amar'e Stoudemire
Amarestoudemire.com

It was certainly a big year for Amar’e Stoudemire and wife Alexis, but 2013 may just prove to be their slam dunk.

The couple, who were engaged in Paris in June and tied the knot on Dec. 12 (12-12-12) on their N.Y.C. apartment roof deck, reveal that they’re expecting their fourth child together late this spring.

“We’re blessed that we were able to extend our family,” the New York Knicks forward, 30, tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“We’re both huge on having a nice size family. It was something we’ve been talking about for a while. It happened naturally and at the right time so it all worked out.”

“It was just perfect timing,” adds Alexis, 29, who says she’s had some morning sickness but overall, “can’t complain!”

The duo, who already have three children together — Ar’e, 7, Amar’e Jr., 6, and Assata, 4 — say everyone is thrilled for the impending arrival.

“They’re very, very excited,” says Alexis. “They just keep guessing if it’s a boy or a girl.” And it won’t be long before the sex is revealed, “I can’t wait to know what it is,” says Amar’e.

“As soon as Amar’e walks into the door those kids are all over him,” says Alexis with a laugh. “He’s like a big kid. He’s a great dad.”

And as for mom, who mans the house while Amar’e is on the road, “she does it all,” says Amar’e. “She does such a phenomenal job with the kids. I’m just here to be the big teddy bear.”

After marrying in December, the couple will hold another wedding celebration this summer. “We’re planning a big, extravagant Cinderella wedding for Alexis!” says Amar’e.

“It was beautiful to have a private ceremony with close family and friends,” says the star of their December nuptials. “I planned it; I wanted to have something that was more spiritual where we could really understand what being married means. It was a great way to end 2012.”

And, says Alexis, “We included the children in our ceremony as well. That was very important to us. It’s something they’ll always remember.”

Amar’e will be honoring his brother Hazel, who passed away last year in a car accident, this weekend by inviting 30 kids from his Florida hometown to the upcoming Orlando Magic vs Knicks game. “I just want them to get away for a little bit and enjoy.”

Looking forward to the new year and a new baby, “Hopefully we’ll bring home a championship and we’ll celebrate with a wedding after that!” adds Amar’e.

Michael Phelps and his girlfriend Megan Rossee have apparently broken up.

The Olympic swimming sensation, who has a record 22 medals and retired after the Summer 2012 Olympic Games, ended his relationship with Rossee, a model, because it wasn't going anywhere and he wanted to pursue other options, according to TMZ.com.

The couple had dated less than a year and charted their relationship on Twitter. While they have not publicly confirmed their split, recent Tweets suggest they're no longer a couple.

"Things happen for a reason. #notme," Phelps, 27, wrote on Twitter Monday.

Rossee, 25, later Tweeted a photo of this saying: "A woman's loyalty is tested when her man has nothing. A man's loyalty is tested when he has everything."

"Yup," she wrote.

On Instagram, Rossee posted a photo of her New Year's Eve celebration.

"The love of my life is the love between friends," she wrote. "Happy New Year! #truelove #bffs."

Talk about onstage pyrotechnics!

Kanye West dropped a bombshell during an Atlantic City concert on Sunday night, revealing that he and girlfriend Kim Kardashian are expecting a child.

The news of the reality starlet's pregnancy was quickly followed by an outpouring of congratulatory Twitter messages from family members.

"Oh BABY BABY BABY!!" shouts Kim's mom Kris Jenner.

Adds sister Kourtney: "Been wanting to shout from the rooftops with joy and now I can! Another angel to welcome to our family. Overwhelmed with excitement!

Kardashian, 32, and West, 35, went public with their relationship last April, about six months after Kardashian filed for divorce from Kris Humphries. The divorce action is still pending.

During Sunday's concert at Revel Resort's Ovation Hall, West revealed his big news by singing, "Now you having my baby" to the roar from the crowd of 5,000, the Associated Press reports.

West asked concertgoers to congratulate his "baby mom" and called the pregnancy the "most amazing thing."
